How to Scan Documents with Your Phone Using CamScanner
If you need to scan documents quickly and easily, you don’t need a scanner or a computer. You can use your phone and a free app called CamScanner. CamScanner is a powerful document scanning and sharing app that lets you scan any paper document, such as receipts, invoices, contracts, certificates, etc., and convert it into a PDF file. You can also edit, crop, enhance, annotate, and share your scanned documents with others.
In this article, we will show you how to use CamScanner to scan documents with your phone in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Download and Install CamScanner
The first thing you need to do is to download and install CamScanner on your phone. CamScanner is available for both Android and iOS devices. You can find it on the Google Play Store or the App Store, or you can scan the QR code below to download it directly.
Once you have downloaded and installed CamScanner, you need to sign up for a free account. You can use your email address, phone number, or a third-party account such as Facebook, Google, or Twitter to sign up. Signing up will allow you to sync your scanned documents across different devices and access them online.
Step 2: Scan a Document
Now that you have CamScanner on your phone, you can start scanning documents. To scan a document, follow these steps:
- Open CamScanner and tap the Camera icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Place the document you want to scan on a flat surface with good lighting. Make sure the document is within the camera frame and aligned with the edges of the screen.
- Tap the Shutter button to take a picture of the document. You can also use the Auto mode to let CamScanner detect and capture the document automatically.
- If you are not satisfied with the picture, you can retake it by tapping the Retake button. If you are happy with the picture, tap the Tick button to confirm it.
- You can also scan multiple pages of a document by tapping the Add button and repeating the steps above.
Step 3: Adjust and Enhance the Scanned Document
After you have scanned a document, you can adjust and enhance it to make it look more clear and professional. To do this, follow these steps:
- You will see a preview of your scanned document on the screen. You can use your fingers to drag the corners of the blue frame to adjust the cropping area. You can also rotate or flip the document by tapping the Rotate or Flip icons at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Next button to proceed to the enhancement options. You can choose from different modes such as Original, Lighten, Magic Color, B&W, or Gray Mode. You can also adjust the brightness, contrast, and color manually by tapping the Edit icon at the bottom of the screen.
- If you want to add some annotations or notes to your scanned document, you can tap the Annotate icon at the bottom of the screen. You can use various tools such as pen, marker, text, stamp, signature, etc., to annotate your document.
- When you are done with adjusting and enhancing your scanned document, tap the Save button at the top right corner of the screen.
Step 4: Share or Export Your Scanned Document
The final step is to share or export your scanned document. You can do this in several ways:
- If you want to share your scanned document with someone else via email, messaging apps, social media platforms, etc., you can tap the Share icon at
