Soccer Career

Johnson was born on June 10, 1991, in Palmdale, California. She attended the University of Southern California from 2009 to 2012, where she played as a forward for the USC Trojans. She scored 15 goals in 82 appearances and was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman Team in 2009.

In March 2014, Johnson joined the Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL after attending their open tryouts. She appeared in 12 games and tallied one assist in her rookie season, but suffered facial lacerations that ended her season prematurely. Johnson has represented the United States at the under-17 level in 2008. She was part of the squad that won the CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championship and qualified for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
